Guelph Police are currently investigating a concerning incident reported by a Kitchener resident concerning Halloween candy. This discovery was made Sunday, a day after her child participated in trick-or-treating in the Applewood Crescent area of Guelph on Saturday night.
Authorities are working to determine the origin of the contaminated chocolate bar, as its source remains unknown. In light of this event, Health Canada is reiterating its strong recommendation for parents to meticulously inspect all Halloween treats before allowing children to consume them. The agency also advises discarding any homemade treats and commercially packaged candies that exhibit signs of tampering, such as torn wrappers, small holes, or compromised packaging.
