Previously, in May, the King offered a positive outlook on his health, remarking that he felt he was "on the better side" of his cancer journey. He has been receiving treatment as an outpatient since early February 2024, with reports of weekly sessions. Despite a "minor bump" requiring a short hospital stay in March due to treatment side effects, his workload has increased this year.

The broadcast comes during a week of fundraising events culminating in a night of entertainment. Davina McCall, who recently shared her own breast cancer treatment, will present a live show from a cancer clinic, offering a glimpse into patient experiences. The King's message will precede McCall's program, underscoring the campaign's vital message of hope and early intervention.
