Kerala High Court Pushes for AIIMS Establishment
25 Feb
Summary
- High court ordered official appearance for AIIMS establishment.
- An AIIMS Kasaragod Janakeeya Kootayma filed the plea.
- The official appearance is scheduled for March 11 virtually.

A significant step towards establishing an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Kerala has been taken, following a directive from the Kerala High Court. The court has ordered a competent official, preferably from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, to appear virtually. This appearance is scheduled for March 11 and is intended to facilitate the establishment of the much-anticipated AIIMS in the state.
The court's order was issued in response to a petition filed by the AIIMS Kasaragod Janakeeya Kootayma. This citizens' collective has been actively campaigning for expedited measures to set up the medical institute in the Kasaragod district. Their persistent efforts have now prompted judicial intervention to move the process forward.
