Karnal CHC Gets Major Upgrade to 100 Beds

The Haryana government has granted in-principle approval to transform the 30-bed Community Health Center (CHC) in Gharaunda, Karnal, into a 100-bed facility. This decision follows a letter from the additional chief secretary of health to the director general of the health department.
The project proposal for the new medical institution requires approval from the standing finance committee via the planning department. This upgrade is expected to significantly benefit the local population by improving access to comprehensive health services.
Currently, residents facing serious illnesses are often referred to Karnal District Civil Hospital or Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College. The expanded CHC will feature general wards, a 24-hour emergency, ICU, maternity and children's wards, and multiple operation theaters.
Assembly speaker Harvinder Kalyan highlighted that the upgraded facility will also include X-ray, ultrasound, ambulance services, and better laboratory capabilities. The number of doctors and paramedical staff will increase, mirroring the services of a District Civil Hospital, ensuring timely and improved medical care for the community.
