After nearly 11 months of negotiations, Kaiser Permanente has successfully ratified over 52 collective bargaining agreements covering more than 61,000 union employees. These agreements represent all employees within the Alliance of Health Care Unions.
The new contracts include a substantial across-the-board wage increase of 21.5% over the four-year term, with average wage growth projected at 30% when factoring in step increases. Kaiser stated this ensures competitive pay while maintaining affordability.
This resolution comes after a period of labor actions, including strikes in Hawaii. The ratification marks a focus on future collaboration to enhance care quality, member service, and affordability, reinforcing Kaiser Permanente's position as a unionized healthcare employer.
