- Initiative aims for medicine self-reliance and job creation for youth.

Jharkhand is poised to launch a dedicated pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, a significant move to enhance the state's healthcare infrastructure and combat unemployment. Health Minister Irfan Ansari highlighted that Jharkhand currently lacks any major pharmaceutical production units, forcing reliance on external sources for essential medicines like Paracetamol and Dextrose saline.
The new industry aims to make Jharkhand self-sufficient in medicine production and generate substantial employment opportunities for local graduates. The state's 123 pharmacy colleges produce over 7,000 graduates annually, and the minister stressed the priority of providing them with quality jobs within Jharkhand.
To further strengthen the healthcare sector, the government will soon initiate recruitment for more than 7,300 ANM and GNM posts under the National Health Mission. Furthermore, 750 new medicine stores are slated for establishment, necessitating the hiring of numerous qualified pharmacists. This comprehensive approach underscores the government's commitment to a robust healthcare system and career development for its young professionals.
