The IWK has successfully transitioned its Perinatal Clinic (PNC) to a new, larger facility at Richmond Yards in Halifax. This new clinic, which opened Friday, is designed to enhance perinatal care, encompassing both primary maternity and high-risk obstetrical services. The move aims to improve accessibility and integrate specialized care into the community.
The expanded space at Richmond Yards now features five additional exam rooms, an extra intake room, and dedicated areas for pregnancy and diabetes support. This upgrade facilitates the IWK's commitment to providing inclusive and accessible specialty services. The clinic's multidisciplinary team includes nurses, physicians, nutritionists, physiotherapists, and social workers.

Affected patients have been notified of the move from the hospital setting. The Adult Infusion Clinic has also relocated to the new Richmond Yards space.
