15 Sep
Summary
- Inspectors noted improvement but more work is required.
- The home was previously in breach of regulations.
- Further improvements needed in medication and infection control.
The Lodge, a care home in Ipswich, is on an improving journey according to recent inspection findings. While previously found to be in breach of regulations concerning governance and safety in March, inspectors visiting in July noted significant progress.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) reported that the home is no longer in breach of safety regulations. However, improvements are still required in governance, specifically concerning medicine systems, infection control, and the overall environment.
Despite these areas needing further work, inspectors observed that residents feel staff are caring and attentive. The home, which can accommodate up to 44 people, currently supports 37 individuals with dementia and mental health needs.
