The retreat is a collaborative effort by organizations like the Rajasthan Association of North America (RANA). Nagendra, a Padma Shri awardee, will be joined by other university officials. He will also serve as the chief guest for the IDY celebrations organized by the Consulate General of India in New York. This year's IDY theme, 'Yoga for Healthy Aging,' emphasizes yoga's role in promoting longevity and preventive healthcare. The UN declared June 21 as International Day of Yoga in 2014, with the first celebration in 2015.
