Summary
- Influencer Stacey Warnecke died from postpartum hemorrhage after a home birth.
- She opted out of prenatal care, influenced by COVID-19 vaccine skepticism.
- A birth attendant was present but later banned and is under investigation.

A coroner's court in Victoria, Australia, has determined that wellness influencer Stacey Warnecke died from a postpartum hemorrhage. Warnecke, who described herself as a "low tox nutritionist," chose to deliver her son, Axel, at home without medical professionals present. This decision was reportedly influenced by her skepticism regarding COVID-19 vaccine mandates and a desire for a lifestyle free from perceived chemicals.
During pregnancy, Warnecke largely avoided prenatal care, with only one initial blood test. A birth attendant, Emily Lal, was present during the unassisted birth. However, Lal later cleaned the scene and refused to provide a statement to police, leading to her being banned from providing care by the Victorian Healthcare Complaints Commissioner.
Warnecke gave birth on September 29, 2025, and initially declined an ambulance. She began struggling to breathe, and an ambulance was called later. She reached the hospital after significant difficulty but succumbed to cardiac arrests despite extensive efforts. The coroner is considering a formal court hearing into her death.
