Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda has called for robust preparedness and surge capacities to manage the anticipated increase in influenza cases during the upcoming season. Speaking at the 'Chintan Shivir,' a two-day event organized by the National Centre for Disease Control, Nadda emphasized the critical need for coordinated efforts between the central government and states to bolster surveillance systems.
The event brought together approximately 110 representatives from various ministries, including Environment and Animal Husbandry, alongside health institutions like ICMR and NIV. This multi-sectoral engagement aimed to foster cross-learning and share best practices for influenza preparedness, highlighting its significant impact on vulnerable populations globally.
