India to Open ₹750 Crore Yoga and Naturopathy Institute in Andhra Pradesh

In a significant development, the Indian government has announced plans to establish a premier research institute for yoga and naturopathy in Andhra Pradesh. The ₹750 crore institute will be set up by the Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy under the Ministry of AYUSH.

The new institute will offer an undergraduate course in Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Science, with an initial intake of 100 UG seats and 20 PG seats. Additionally, a 450-bed naturopathy hospital equipped with modern facilities and a Research and Training Center will be established as part of the project.

The Central government has already written to the Andhra Pradesh state government requesting the allotment of 40 acres of land for the institution. The minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving this request, stating that the upcoming institute will operate at a higher level compared to other AYUSH institutions in the country.

Alongside this, the government is also planning to set up a ₹100 crore Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy near Nadimpalem in Guntur district, which will focus solely on providing medical services. Construction of a naturopathy college is also underway in Visakhapatnam, with the Centre expected to approve 100 seats for the Naturopathy course from the academic year 2026-27.
