Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda inaugurated the event, which focused on advancing inclusive, accessible, and affordable healthcare nationwide.
Technical deliberations on the summit's second day centered on findings from the 17th Common Review Mission. This mission serves as a crucial mechanism for assessing progress under the National Health Mission, identifying both achievements and areas needing further strengthening.
Discussions highlighted significant advancements in operationalizing Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, expanding primary healthcare, and increasing the adoption of digital health solutions. Improvements were noted in maternal and child health services, non-communicable disease management, and access to care through teleconsultation.
Emphasis was also placed on optimizing human resources, ensuring drug availability, and extending healthcare to remote regions. Strengthening referral systems and community participation were identified as key to sustaining these gains and aligning with Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Concerns were raised about ensuring digital health inclusivity for vulnerable populations and the importance of robust biomedical waste management systems.
