Etsy Sells Illegal Injectable Vitamins With Shocking Freebies
18 Dec, 2025
Summary
- Etsy vendors illegally sold injectable vitamins lacking vital information.
- One vendor included erectile dysfunction pills with vitamin orders.
- Two Etsy shops were shut down after the investigation.

An investigation by consumer watchdog Which? has uncovered the illegal sale of injectable vitamins on the e-commerce platform Etsy. Numerous listings featured generic packaging for products like "Vitamin C" and "Multivitamin infusion" but critically lacked legal nutritional information, including ingredient lists and dosage warnings. Which? staff purchased four products from two sellers, noting Etsy's failure to intervene before the shops were closed.
One vendor, MummyWorldTreasures, sent vials labeled with prescription warnings and included three loose, unnamed pills. Lab tests confirmed these pills contained sildenafil and tadalafil, active ingredients in erectile dysfunction medications, which are illegal to sell without a prescription. The multivitamin box had also leaked, and packaging indicated the products originated from India and Spain, suggesting they were not authorized for sale in the UK.
Etsy stated that prohibited items like medical drugs are not allowed on its platform and confirmed the flagged listings are no longer available. The MHRA is working with online marketplaces to prevent illegal medicine sales. The investigation underscores serious concerns about consumer safety and the ease with which illegal products can appear on online marketplaces.
