Hyderabad Cafes Shut Down Over Hygiene Violations
2 Sep
Summary
- Two cafes closed due to lack of FSSAI licenses.
- Hotel Shadab's license suspended for sanitation and storage issues.
- Multiple food samples seized for suspected adulteration and sent for analysis.

Two cafes in Hyderabad, Dreamz Cafeteria and Asiatic Cafe, were permanently closed by the Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) on Wednesday. The reason for their closure was operating without valid FSSAI licenses or registrations.
Additionally, the FSSAI license of Hotel Shadab's Madina Circle branch was suspended following inspections that revealed multiple food safety and hygiene violations. These included issues with sanitation and the storage of meat and other food items.
During a special drive across 19 establishments, nine enforcement teams also identified poor hygiene, improper food handling, expired products, and pest infestations. Expired food and items suspected to be adulterated were discarded or seized for analysis, with 15 food samples collected.
Improvement notices will be issued to 12 other establishments, while show-cause notices and potential penalties are being prepared for Golden Cafe, Dreams Cafeteria, Mirosa Cafe and Kitchen, Asiatic Cafe, and Hotel Shadab.
