Hull Royal Infirmary has introduced a new temporary 'discharge lounge' to help manage hospital bed availability. This new facility, located on the ground floor, is equipped to hold up to 30 patients who are awaiting transportation to their homes.
The lounge features a combination of trolleys, recliners, and chairs, offering a comfortable waiting space. It also facilitates easier access for ambulance crews responsible for patient pick-ups, streamlining the departure process.
