Hull A&E Floor Work: Expect Delays, Use Alternatives
13 Jul
Summary
- Emergency department floor work to take eight weeks.
- Patients urged to use urgent treatment centres or GPs.
- Service remains operational but relocated to a smaller area.

Hull Royal Infirmary's accident and emergency department is currently undergoing essential works to replace the floor in its Majors unit. These "essential works" are expected to take approximately eight weeks to complete.
During this period, patients are being encouraged to consider using alternative healthcare services such as urgent treatment centres, their General Practitioner (GP), or local pharmacists. The Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust stated that these services may be better equipped to meet various patient needs during the renovation.
The A&E service itself will continue to operate normally, however, the emergency department team will be temporarily relocated to ward H36, a smaller space than their usual area. The trust assured the public that they remain available for those with the greatest need and will prioritize treatment accordingly.
