His remarks followed the inauguration of an HPV vaccination camp held in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, December 13, 2025. The camp, organized by Natco Trust, Lions Club of Vizag, and Chaitanya Sravanthi, specifically targeted girl children of police personnel and home guards, aged between 9 and 14 years.
Dr. Shirin Rahaman, president of Chaitanya Sravanthi, who initiated the camp, reassured attendees about the vaccine's safety and efficacy. She highlighted the importance of extending the HPV vaccination program to rural areas to protect girls in villages. Dr. Rahaman also stressed that the vaccination requires two doses administered six months apart and appealed to both Central and State governments for their cooperation in this crucial health mission.
The Police Commissioner commended the efforts of the NGOs and urged them to organize similar camps for other diseases like hepatitis, pneumonia, and typhoid, recognizing the health risks faced by police personnel. He announced that the police department would soon conduct a rally on Beach Road to raise public awareness about cervical cancer, aiming to foster a healthier community.
