Government hospitals identified with deficiencies in healthcare service delivery were called to Amaravati on May 27, 2026, for a mandatory performance review. This assessment was informed by patient feedback gathered via the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) over the preceding month.
Separate workshops were organized for medical institutions under the Directorate of Medical Education and the Directorate of Secondary Health. During these sessions, officials were required to account for indicators of poor performance, specifically addressing issues such as absent doctors, dereliction of duty, and inadequate sanitation.
Health and Family Welfare Commissioner G. Veerapandian emphasized that negligence would not be tolerated and that strict disciplinary actions would be implemented as per Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav's directives, should improvements not be observed. Concurrently, the commissioner acknowledged the commendable services provided by high-achieving government hospitals.
Key officials, including Director of Secondary Health K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu and DME G. Raghunandan, presided over the workshops. They reviewed the performance of individual hospitals and discussed strategies to rectify the identified problems, ensuring accountability and a commitment to enhanced patient care.
