Holiday Bark Recall: Undeclared Pecans Cause Alarm
24 Dec
Summary
- Holiday Bark recalled due to undeclared pecans mixed in packaging.
- Recalled product was distributed nationwide to Aldi stores.
- No illnesses reported, but risk of severe allergic reaction exists.

Silvestri Sweets Inc. has expanded a voluntary recall of its 5-ounce bags of Choceur brand Holiday Bark. The expanded recall addresses fears that the products could contain undeclared allergens, specifically pecans. This issue was discovered when Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Bark was found to have been packaged in Cookie Butter Holiday Bark bags, a significant concern for consumers with nut allergies.
The affected holiday bark was distributed to Aldi stores across the United States. The company stated that people with pecan allergies face a risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume the mislabeled products. Investigations point to a temporary breakdown in production and packaging processes as the cause of this mix-up.
As of December 24, 2025, no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall. Customers who purchased the recalled bark are advised to discard it immediately. Silvestri Sweets Inc. can be contacted at 1-630-232-2500 or customerservice@carousel-candies.com for additional questions. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) supports voluntary recalls by manufacturers.
