Holi Colors & Sensitive Skin: Expert Safety Tips
2 Mar
Summary
- Recent cosmetic procedures can make skin sensitive to Holi colors.
- Synthetic Holi colors may trigger allergic reactions and infections.
- Individuals with skin issues or respiratory problems should be cautious.

As the vibrant festival of Holi nears, health experts are issuing crucial advice for individuals with pre-existing skin conditions or those who have recently undergone cosmetic procedures. Their skin may be more susceptible to adverse reactions from the colors used during the celebrations.
Treatments such as laser hair reduction, carbon laser facials, microneedling, hydrafacials, botox, fillers, or thread lifts can leave the skin in a vulnerable healing phase. According to plastic and cosmetic surgeon Dr. Jayant Kumar Dash, synthetic colors can lead to allergic reactions, infections, and contact dermatitis on freshly treated skin.
