20 Mar
Summary
- Workshop aimed to boost HIV treatment linkage and outreach.
- Haryana achieved 81:83:95 ratios; Delhi needs faster treatment link.
- 219 priority districts identified, including 11 in Haryana, 7 in Delhi.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare recently organized the 'Suraksha Sankalp Karyashala' to enhance district-level HIV/AIDS response, with a special focus on Haryana and Delhi. This workshop gathered district program teams to showcase progress, discuss operational hurdles, and devise action plans for strengthening HIV interventions at the grassroots. Collaborative planning between national, state, and district stakeholders aims to improve treatment linkage and retention, boost viral load suppression, and expand outreach to vulnerable groups.
Discussions emphasized improving program implementation through inter-sectoral coordination, capacity building, and monitoring. Haryana has achieved an approximate 81:83:95 ratio, indicating good progress but needing more effort in diagnosis and treatment linkage. Delhi, however, struggles with approximately 70 percent of identified individuals receiving treatment, necessitating accelerated coverage. The ministry identified 219 priority districts nationwide for intensive interventions, including 11 in Haryana and seven in Delhi.
