Health Minister: Service Over Rights for Doctors

Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav has underscored the critical need for doctors to embody a strong sense of service and humanitarian values to truly serve their profession. Speaking to Primary Health Centre (PHC) doctors in Vijayawada, he addressed recent concerns, advising medical professionals to reflect on their commitment to patient care alongside their rights. The minister cautioned that a doctor's negligence must never jeopardize a patient's life, highlighting that while good work may go unnoticed, a single mistake can irrevocably tarnish their professional standing.

Further emphasizing public health initiatives, Yadav called upon PHC doctors to diligently implement cancer screening under the Non-Communicable Diseases-4 program. Addressing the doctors' strike demands, he indicated a positive governmental stance on providing admissions to PHC doctors through the in-service quota for Diplomate of National Board (DNB) courses. Additionally, the Health Minister has directed officials to thoroughly examine issues concerning seat allotment, timely promotions, notional increments, and allowances for doctors serving in tribal areas.
