30 Aug
Summary
- Collector demonstrated proper blood pressure measurement after an officer's error.
- Irregularities found in patient and attendance registers at the health center.
- The Sapon Sub-Health Centre serves approximately 1,000 people.

A surprise inspection at the Sapon Sub-Health Centre in Tikamgarh, India, revealed serious deficiencies in patient care on Saturday. Collector Vivek Shrotriya intervened when a community health officer was unable to correctly measure a pregnant woman's blood pressure, demonstrating the proper technique himself.
The inspection was initiated after villagers complained about the health facility not opening regularly, impacting healthcare services. Shrotriya, a nursing graduate, also questioned the officer about her qualifications.
Further examination of the attendance and patient registers by the collector uncovered significant irregularities. Dates were missing for patients, and the attendance register showed discrepancies. Consequently, Shrotriya directed the block medical officer to investigate the matter and issue a notice to the community health officer.
He also emphasized the necessity of ensuring the center operates on a regular schedule to provide essential healthcare services to the approximately 1,000 residents it serves. Three health workers are currently posted at the Sapon centre.
