Haryana has maintained its national leadership in blood donation per million population for the third consecutive year, a testament to its ongoing commitment. During the 2025-26 period, the state achieved a remarkable collection of 5.89 lakh units of blood, facilitated by 8,189 organized camps. This consistent performance has earned Haryana national recognition previously in 2024 and 2025.
The state's progress extends to infrastructure, with all 22 districts now possessing functional government blood centers. Overall, the number of blood centers has grown to 163, with a high percentage offering component separation facilities. Voluntary donation rates have seen a substantial increase, climbing from 79% to 92% by August 2026, nearing the national benchmark of 95%.
Furthermore, Haryana demonstrates strong performance in blood safety and patient support. Over 96% of high-risk reactive donors were effectively tracked, significantly exceeding the benchmark. Blood wastage has been successfully managed below 4%. Patients in government hospitals receive blood components free of charge, with specific provisions for BPL and dengue patients. The state also provides ongoing support to thalassemia and hemophilia patients.
