The Haryana government is introducing a broad mental health scheme, intended to be implemented at the block level to address existing health concerns. This initiative was confirmed during a recent health department review meeting.
In parallel, the state is focusing on enhancing medical professional capabilities through specialized training programs for doctors and nurses, particularly in critical care and ICU operations. This move aims to bolster the quality of healthcare services across the state.
Haryana is demonstrating robust digital health adoption, evidenced by the creation of 1.77 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs. These digital records empower citizens to manage their health information and access services more efficiently. Furthermore, 423 health facilities are now operational on the NextGen e-Hospital platform, streamlining processes and improving patient experience.
The health sector's budgetary allocation has seen a substantial increase, escalating from ₹2,646 crore in 2014-15 to ₹9,941.97 crore for 2025-26, marking a nearly four-fold rise. This investment supports the state's 3,672 health institutions, which collectively offer 14,656 beds. Ongoing development includes 74 projects funded by the state budget and 390 projects under the National Health Mission.
Significant progress is also noted in reproductive health, with the total fertility rate declining to 1.9. Institutional deliveries have reached an impressive 98.8%, indicating improved access to safe childbirth services.
