Haryana Expands ESI Healthcare to All Districts

Haryana is on the verge of a significant expansion of its tertiary care network. The Health Department plans to empanel private hospitals in all 22 districts to provide cashless treatment under the Employees' State Insurance (ESI) scheme. This initiative aims to establish a comprehensive statewide network of ESI-registered healthcare providers.

Expected to launch in the coming months, this expanded network will offer ESI beneficiaries access to cashless admission, emergency care, surgeries, diagnostics, and specialist consultations. Treatment will be provided at Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) package rates, mirroring a successful model already in place in Gurugram and Faridabad.

To ensure quality, hospitals will undergo rigorous quality assurance checks, compliance verification, and inspections. They must be licensed bedded facilities with specialists, intensive care units, and 24-hour emergency services. The network will cover a wide range of treatments, from common illnesses and routine surgeries to specialized care like orthopaedics, pregnancy, and paediatrics.

The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) had previously issued a directive in January 2026 to enhance superspeciality tertiary care in Haryana. Several hospitals in districts like Rohtak, Jhajjar, Panipat, Ambala, and Hisar have already received approvals, with more expected to be fast-tracked. Hospitals can apply for empanelment until August 10, with non-compliance leading to potential de-empanelment.
