Urgent Recall: Hair Growth Serum Poses Deadly Danger
6 Mar
Summary
- Thousands of hair serum bottles recalled due to lack of child-resistant packaging.
- Minoxidil in serum poses risks of blood pressure drops and heart rate increases if ingested.
- Consumers urged to secure product and contact seller for replacement and disposal instructions.

Health officials have issued an urgent recall for 27,400 bottles of Tomum Hair Regrowth Treatment, citing a significant risk of serious injury or death. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that the spray bottles lack child-resistant packaging, a requirement for products containing minoxidil due to potential poisoning risks.
Minoxidil, a common hair growth medication, can cause severe health issues if ingested, including extreme drops in blood pressure and increased heart rate. While no adverse effects have been reported to date, the CPSC stresses the danger to young children. The affected products were sold on Amazon between March 2025 and September 2025.
Consumers are strongly advised to immediately store the recalled serum bottles out of sight and reach of children. Belleka Inc., the distributor, is offering a free replacement with child-resistant bottles. Additionally, consumers must dispose of the recalled bottle and send a photo of it in the trash to Belleka to confirm disposal.
