More than 400 guests attending a wedding in Gujarat's Dahod district became ill on Monday night, prompting a large-scale emergency response. Emergency services and ambulances were dispatched to the tribal village of Abhlod, where approximately 1,000 guests were present. While most of the ill guests received primary care in the village, around 70 individuals with severe symptoms were transported to Zydus Hospital in Dahod and other private facilities. No fatalities have been reported, though over 20 individuals are in critical condition.
Health and food safety officials have collected samples of the food served, including the mango juice and paneer, for laboratory testing. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the mass illness, with strict action promised against those found responsible.
