Guernsey's Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy is demonstrating "real progress", especially concerning children and young people, according to the States. The 2025 annual report highlights advancements in its third year.
During 2025, 91% of the strategy's 45 actions were commenced. Support for children and young individuals has seen notable improvements through enhanced early assistance and better accessibility to services.
A key focus for 2025 was prevention and early intervention, particularly for young people and families. Initiatives included the development of a new perinatal mental health pathway, expansion of early help and youth services, and strengthening of additional learning needs pathways.
This strategy, approved three years ago, is a collaborative effort between the States of Guernsey, primary care teams, and the charitable sector, continuing until 2029. It aims to foster a life-course approach to mental health, from pregnancy through to early adulthood.
