Blueberry Recall: E. coli Scare Hits Freezers!

A recall has been issued for GreenWise Organic Whole Blueberries and Whole Mixed Berries due to potential contamination with E. coli O145:H28. This recall impacts all lots of these frozen berry products sold at Publix retail stores.
The contamination poses a risk of severe stomach cramps, bloody diarrhea, and vomiting. As of June 5, 2026, 12 illnesses have been confirmed, with four individuals requiring hospitalization. Fortunately, no deaths have been reported.
Consumers in possession of the recalled blueberries are instructed not to consume them. They can be returned to Publix for a full refund or safely discarded. For further questions, Publix Customer Care can be reached. The FDA continues to monitor the situation.
