A grandmother's life was tragically cut short after her symptoms of dizziness were initially misdiagnosed as depression. Pamela Cook, aged 65, received a devastating diagnosis of glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor, just months before her passing.
Her daughter, Clair Bowkett, shared that Pamela began experiencing dizziness shortly after her wedding. Despite seeking medical help and her condition worsening, doctors prescribed antidepressants. It wasn't until an MRI scan at Lincoln Hospital that the tumor was discovered, leading to surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.
Sadly, the tumor returned, and Pamela passed away peacefully at home on March 24, 2024. Clair is now determined to keep her mother's memory alive by participating in a fundraising challenge for Brain Tumour Research, aiming to support a new center focused on glioblastoma research.
