The New Brunswick government has announced a significant investment of more than $6.7 million towards a new collaborative care clinic in Grand Falls. This expansion aims to enhance healthcare services for hundreds of patients in the region.
The new 15,000-square-foot facility is anticipated to accommodate an additional 1,600 patients, building upon the current roster of 4,632 individuals. Construction is scheduled to commence next spring.
This development is part of a broader provincial initiative, with the government having announced 20 collaborative care clinics since April 2025 and planning to establish a total of 30 by the end of 2028. Health Minister John Dornan stated the expansion will empower practitioners to deliver higher-quality care.
This initiative follows a recent report from the province's auditor general, which raised questions about the demonstrable impact of the collaborative care model on reducing waitlists.
