Urgent Recall: Baby Toy Poses Deadly Choking Risk
21 Jun
Summary
- GOPO Toys teething toys recalled due to choking hazard
- Silicone strings violate safety standards, posing risk
- Consumers must destroy toy for full refund from GOPO Toys

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced an urgent recall of GOPO Toys pull string teething toys. This recall is due to a significant risk of choking, which could lead to serious injury or death. The recalled toys, sold between August 2023 and March 2026, feature silicone strings that violate mandatory safety standards.
These strings are longer and shorter than permitted, posing a critical hazard. They can reach the back of a child's throat, potentially causing respiratory distress and becoming a deadly choking hazard. The CPSC has been informed of three incidents where the toy's strings led to choking or respiratory distress in children.
Over 70,000 units of these off-white disc-shaped toys with multi-colored pull strings were sold online for $11 to $15. Consumers who purchased the affected GOPO Toys are strongly advised to immediately stop using the product and keep it away from children. To receive a full refund, customers must destroy the toy by cutting its strings, write "destroyed" on the toy, and send a photo of the destroyed toy to recalls@gopotoys.com.
