A significant advancement in public healthcare has arrived in Khoda, Ghaziabad, with the inauguration of a government polyclinic-cum-primary health centre on Thursday. This marks a first for the region, bringing comprehensive medical services closer to approximately 10 lakh people. The facility was established at an investment of Rs 4 crore, upgrading a former urban primary health centre.
The newly enhanced centre boasts expanded services beyond basic outpatient care. Residents can now access outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) services, crucial diagnostic tests, TB screening, ECG, and innovative AI-powered Health ATMs for eye and ear check-ups. The polyclinic will also provide essential maternal and child health services, vaccinations, rabies treatment, and gynaecological care, including childbirth.
This development is poised to alleviate the strain on existing government hospitals in Ghaziabad. Officials highlighted plans for further expansion, including blood cancer screening and the addition of specialist doctors. Currently operating with 10 beds, the capacity is set to increase upon formal state government approval, promising timely medical attention for Khoda residents and surrounding areas.
