Ghaziabad's district administration commenced a month-long communicable disease control campaign on October 1st. This initiative aims to curb the spread of dengue, malaria, and other infections. Preventive measures include the deployment of approximately 100 fogging machines and other spraying equipment across identified vulnerable areas. Several localities are being covered, encompassing parts of Mohan Nagar, Shalimar Garden, and Vasundhara, among others.
The campaign was inaugurated with an awareness rally from the Joint District Hospital. Health officials emphasized resident participation in eliminating stagnant water, a key breeding ground for mosquitoes. As of the report, Ghaziabad has recorded 31 dengue cases and 21 malaria cases, alongside other infections.
The 'Dastak' campaign will specifically focus on early identification and prevention of communicable diseases and encephalitis. Health workers will conduct extensive awareness and surveillance activities across the district.
