6 Jun
Summary
- Gas-X Extra Strength Softgels recalled due to coolant contamination.
- Machine leakage during packaging may have dripped coolant into bottles.
- Haleon has not received any reports of illness from the affected product.

Manufacturer Haleon has initiated a voluntary recall for specific lots of Gas-X Extra Strength Softgels, identified by their green capsules and packaging. This action was prompted by potential contamination stemming from a machine leakage incident during the packaging process.
During packaging, a diluted propylene glycol-based coolant may have dripped into the medication bottles. Propylene glycol is a common ingredient, but its presence as a contaminant could potentially cause adverse reactions such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
Haleon has stated that as of the recall notice, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the affected product. The recall specifically impacts four lots of Gas-X Extra Strength Softgels, distributed between April 13, 2026, and May 14, 2026. No other Gas-X products are included in this recall.
Consumers possessing the affected Gas-X Extra Strength Softgels are urged to cease using the product immediately and to check the lot numbers. Haleon is arranging for product returns and reimbursements. Consumers experiencing any concerning symptoms are advised to consult a healthcare provider.
