Hidden Danger: Chips Recalled for Undeclared Milk
5 Mar
Summary
- Select Miss Vickie's chips recalled due to undeclared milk.
- Recall impacts chips distributed across six Southern states.
- Consumers with milk allergies should discard affected bags.

Selected 8-ounce bags of Miss Vickie's "Spicy Dill Pickle" potato chips are being voluntarily recalled by Frito-Lay due to undeclared milk. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the recall on March 4, 2026. This action was prompted by the discovery that some packets might contain jalapeño-flavored chips, which include milk as an ingredient not listed on the label. This poses a significant risk to consumers with milk allergies.
The affected chips were distributed starting January 15, 2026, reaching grocery, convenience, and drug stores across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. Consumers can identify the recalled products by the UPC code 0 28400 761772 and specific manufacturing codes: 38U301414 or 48U101514. The "Guaranteed Fresh" date on affected bags is April 21, 2026.
Frito-Lay initiated the recall after a consumer reported the issue, though no allergic reactions have been reported to date. The FDA confirmed that no other Miss Vickie's products, sizes, or flavors are part of this recall. Consumers with the recalled product who are allergic or sensitive to milk are advised to discard it immediately. For assistance, consumers can contact Miss Vickie's directly via their website or by calling 1-877-984-2543.
