Chennai Seniors Get Free Doorstep Eye Exams

TwinTech Healthcare Services, a division of TwinTech Institute of Education Trust, has successfully extended vital eye care to 5,351 senior citizens throughout Chennai. This initiative, the Free Doorstep Comprehensive Geriatric Eye Care Program, ensures that elderly individuals, including those in old-age homes, receive necessary medical attention without leaving their residences.

The program offers a full spectrum of eye care services. These include detailed eye examinations, screenings for conditions like cataract and glaucoma, retina evaluations, and vision tests. Furthermore, free spectacles are provided, and referrals for surgery are facilitated, with consistent follow-up care. The initiative has made its mark across more than 30 centers and homes in Chennai.

Beyond specialized eye care, the program also integrates general health check-ups and mobility exercises tailored for the elderly. This holistic approach aims to enhance the overall quality of life for senior citizens in the community, addressing both their visual and general health needs through convenient, doorstep services.
