Pune Launches Free Dental & Eye Care Centers

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has inaugurated a new free dental and eye examination and treatment center at the Late Draupadabai Murlidhar Khedekar Hospital in Bopodi. This facility aims to make quality healthcare more accessible to all citizens.
The initiative, a collaboration with HV Desai Eye Hospital and DY Patil Dental College, will offer free eye and dental examinations and treatments. The goal is to encourage early diagnosis and reduce the financial strain on patients, particularly those from economically weaker sections.
Furthermore, the PMC has revealed plans to expand healthcare services in Pune. A free Cancer Care, Diagnostic and Support Centre is slated to open soon at Late Baburao Shewale Hospital. Additionally, Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Bopodi will receive upgraded intensive care unit (ICU) beds.
