26 Feb
Summary
- QR codes on Royal Mail lockers link to free CPR training.
- The RevivR tool teaches cardiac arrest recognition and CPR.
- Over 300,000 people have completed the 15-minute training.

A new initiative is making life-saving CPR training accessible to the public in mere minutes. Royal Mail has partnered with the British Heart Foundation, integrating a QR code on its parcel lockers. Scanning this code directs individuals to RevivR, a free online CPR training tool. This program is designed to teach essential skills for responding to cardiac emergencies.
February has been designated as Heart Month, a period during which Royal Mail is actively promoting CPR awareness. The postal service is leveraging its extensive parcel locker network to help more people learn how to save a life. This collaboration has already empowered over 150,000 individuals to learn CPR, with additional support contributing to the placement of over 250 defibrillators in communities.
The RevivR training, accessible via smartphone and requiring only a cushion, takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. Participants learn to identify cardiac arrest, understand emergency call procedures, perfect CPR techniques, and locate and use defibrillators. The British Heart Foundation highlights that prompt CPR and defibrillator use can significantly increase survival rates for the over 40,000 people experiencing out-of-hospital cardiac arrests annually in the UK.
