14 Aug
Summary
- Free medical, dental, and vision clinic coming to Philadelphia
- No insurance or ID required to receive care
- Clinic offering services like teeth cleanings, eye exams, and pap smears

On August 12-13, 2025, a free pop-up medical, dental, and vision clinic is set to open its doors in West Philadelphia. The clinic, organized by the nonprofit Remote Area Medical, will provide essential healthcare services to the local community, with no insurance or ID required.
According to Brad Sands, the clinic coordinator, the School of the Future at 4021 Parkside Avenue will host the event. Sands emphasizes that the clinic is open to anyone, stating, "You tell me your name's Mickey Mouse, and I'm gonna bring you in and give you quality health care."
The clinic will offer a range of services, including dental fillings, extractions, cleanings, and X-rays, as well as eye exams and the ability to make glasses on-site. Additionally, the clinic will provide basic medical care, including gynecological services. Local healthcare providers, including dentists, vision specialists, and nurses, will volunteer their time to ensure the success of the event.
Remote Area Medical's free pop-up clinics have become increasingly popular across the country, with people often lining up overnight to receive care. Sands advises attendees to arrive early and be prepared to wait, as the clinic operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a limited number of spots available.
In 2024, the clinic served nearly 400 people, and this year's event is expected to be even bigger, as the need for accessible healthcare continues to grow in the Philadelphia area.
