Summary
- Adults can now borrow blood pressure monitors for free.
- Cambridgeshire libraries offer 350 devices for up to three weeks.
- This initiative aims to identify undiagnosed high blood pressure cases.

Adults in Cambridgeshire can now borrow blood pressure monitors at no cost, thanks to a new initiative rolled out across the county's libraries. Cambridgeshire County Council has distributed 350 devices, which can be loaned for up to three weeks. Mobile library services will offer even longer loan periods of up to five weeks.
This program targets the significant number of individuals, estimated at 50,000 in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, who may have high blood pressure without realizing it. High blood pressure is a silent condition, often lacking symptoms, yet it significantly increases the risk of severe health problems such as heart attacks, strokes, and heart failure.
