Chocolate Recall: Hazelnut Hidden in Almond Treat
22 Dec
Summary
- Fran's Chocolates bar recalled due to undeclared hazelnut allergen.
- 112 units of almond milk chocolate sold nationwide are affected.
- One allergic reaction reported; no severe illnesses or deaths.

Fran's Chocolates, Ltd. of Seattle, Washington, has issued a recall for 112 units of its Pure Bar Almondmilk Chocolate. The recall stems from the discovery that the candy contains hazelnut, an allergen that was not listed on the product's ingredients label, posing a risk to sensitive individuals.
The affected product is the 1.1oz Madagascar Plant-Based Almondmilk Chocolate, sold between October 9, 2025, and December 14, 2025, both in Fran's Seattle stores and online. A supplier's notification regarding trace amounts of hazelnuts due to shared processing equipment prompted the recall after one adverse allergic event was reported.
Consumers allergic to hazelnuts are urged not to consume the chocolate bars and to return them for a full refund. The FDA is monitoring the situation, and while one allergic reaction has been noted, no severe illnesses or fatalities have been associated with this specific recall.
