- The once-daily pill offers convenience without meal restrictions.

Eli Lilly's Foundayo (orforglipron) has shown promising results in weight management for older adults. Post-hoc analyses from two Phase III trials, ATTAIN-1 and ATTAIN-2, revealed that patients aged 65 and over experienced significant body weight reductions.
In the ATTAIN-1 trial, which included participants without type 2 diabetes, the highest dose of Foundayo led to a mean body weight reduction of 13% in the older adult cohort. Participants aged 65 and older in the ATTAIN-2 trial, which included those with type 2 diabetes, saw a mean weight loss of 12.2% at the highest dose.
Dr. Rachel Batterham highlighted that these data are reassuring, showing up to 13% weight loss in patients 65 and older with a safety profile similar to broader trial populations. The convenience of a once-daily pill that can be taken without regard to meals is a significant benefit for this age group.
