A woman in Jiangsu, China, experienced severe health complications after consuming a raw fish gallbladder, mistakenly believing it would alleviate her headache. The incident, which occurred on December 14, led to her urgent admission to the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangsu University.
Following the consumption of the gallbladder extracted from a grass carp, the woman developed symptoms including vomiting, diarrhea, and intense stomach pain within hours. Medical professionals diagnosed her with fish gallbladder poisoning and acute hepatic failure, necessitating transfer to the intensive care unit for treatment.
