FDA Warns: Toxic Lead in Kitchenware!
2 Dec
Summary
- FDA issued urgent warnings about imported cookware leaching lead.
- Lead exposure poses serious health risks, especially to children.
- Nine new products added to the FDA's growing list of concern.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a critical safety alert concerning imported cookware, warning that it may leach dangerous levels of lead into food. This announcement on November 24, 2025, expands upon an earlier warning from August 2025.
The updated list now includes nine more products, predominantly made from aluminum, brass, and specific aluminum alloys. These items, including pots, pans, and kadais, failed rigorous testing designed to simulate normal cooking conditions, prompting immediate regulatory action.
Consumers are strongly advised to check their kitchens for these products and dispose of them immediately. The FDA also cautioned that the list might expand further as surveillance continues, emphasizing the risks associated with lead exposure, particularly for vulnerable populations like young children and pregnant women.
