Fayette County Launches Telehealth for Non-Emergencies

Fayette County Fire and EMS has introduced a groundbreaking non-emergency medical services hotline, launching in December. This new program, in partnership with RightSite Health, aims to enhance healthcare access for non-urgent needs by connecting patients directly with emergency room physicians.

Utilizing secure telehealth technology, the service allows eligible patients to receive a physician consultation at home instead of a hospital transport. Navigators will assist with scheduling follow-up appointments, prescription management, and transportation coordination, offering a convenient alternative for community members.

This innovation ensures that emergency response capabilities are preserved for critical incidents. Fire Chief Jeffrey Hill stated that the service provides convenient treatment options and can significantly reduce healthcare costs for both patients and employers, offering a valuable benefit to the community.
