Roof Hole Leaves Family Cold and Upset This Christmas

A mother of four, including a six-month-old baby, endured freezing living conditions due to a large hole in her roof and persistent damp and mould. The situation escalated when a crack appeared in her bedroom ceiling, exposing the loft and daylight.

Initially, workers provided a bucket for leaks and indicated repairs would not occur until January. The mother reported her family had to return to the "freezing" property at one point after hotel accommodations became unavailable, leading to illness among her children.

The housing provider has since apologized for the delay and inconvenience. They stated that ceiling damage was repaired to make the property safe and outstanding works would be completed in early January, with the family now in temporary accommodation.
