Summary
- A student and a graduate performed a fatal C-section.
- The unregistered hospital operated illegally for five years.
- The illegal clinic charged low fees for caesarean operations.

A fatal caesarean surgery at an unregistered private hospital has led to the arrest of two individuals, a class 12 student and an arts graduate, by the Ambedkar Nagar police. The deceased, Priyanka, was admitted for delivery on February 5, and the alleged unqualified practitioners performed a C-section. She reportedly succumbed to excessive bleeding following anesthesia.
The illegal Navjeevan Hospital in Baskhari had been operating for approximately five years, allegedly charging between Rs 3,000 and Rs 5,000 per caesarean operation. This significantly lower cost attracted patients seeking affordable treatment. The hospital was found to be operating from four rooms of a residential building without any registration or necessary authorizations.
Following the incident, protests by the victim's family erupted, prompting authorities to seal the hospital premises on February 8. An FIR was lodged on February 9, charging the accused for illegal hospital operation and medical negligence. Further investigations are underway to identify other locations where the accused may have performed surgeries, and efforts are being made to apprehend the absconding hospital operator.
